Xandr Brown
Communications Associate
As MEJC’s communications associate, Xandr Brown (she/her) brings her years of experience as a hyperlocal reporter, multimedia producer, and artist to the role.
With a BA in Communications and History and minor in Environmental Humanities from upstate New York’s University of Rochester, she alchemized her own unique path within journalism.
Her most recent position as multimedia reporter with national rural news organization, Daily Yonder, honed her abilities as a podcast editor, interviewer, newscast host, and video producer.
She has flexed her vision as an artist, basing her practice in documentary photography and producing an oral history exhibition with the Center of Rural Strategies.
Prior to reporting with the Daily Yonder, she entrenched herself in hometown affairs as a hyperlocal reporter and managing editor of publications like Flintside.
She sees this role as a way to further harness her passion for storytelling, community engagement, and environmental justice issues.
